The Skin Deli Company History
“My vision was to create true feasts for the skin using high-quality, always-yummy natural ingredients. I wanted to create natural and nutritious skincare that was not just good for your skin, but great for the environment, too!” - Founder Immanuelle (a.k.a. Beauty Foodie)
The story of The Skin Deli
The Skin Deli was originally founded in London by “Beauty Foodie” Immanuelle. Immanuelle discovered a passion for making cosmetics whilst at school, where she started experimenting with saponification (soapmaking). Immanuelle would encourage friends to tell her about their cultures’ traditional cooking oils, giving her global inspiration for oils she could use in her products. Whilst a student at university, Immanuelle was fascinated by learning about the positive impact of natural oils on the body, and this prompted her to take her passion to a higher level. After receiving positive feedback from friends and family who had used her cosmetics, Immanuelle decided to take her products to the public, setting up a stall at Spitalfields Market. The stall was popular, and the products sold themselves simply because they worked. Immanuelle discovered she had touched upon a niche in the market and knew she had created something extremely unique and special: a skin deli, filled with gourmet feasts for the skin.
The Skin Deli sets out to meld nutrition and skincare with beautiful results. Immanuelle believes that the saying “you are what you eat” also applies to what you put on your skin. Her philosophy has led her to cook up a range of gourmet skincare that combines recognisable, ingestible ingredients such as fruit, vegetables, raw extracts and oils to beautify the skin in a natural and nutritious way.
The Skin Deli product range is like a feast that offers up all the gifts your body needs to feel good, healthy and well fed.
